#TeamBraylon and Hemby Children's Hospital

Since starting Heart Meter last year I’ve come in contact with a lot of amazing people, and few are as inspiring as Braylon. Braylon is a 6 year old young man undergoing chemo on a tumor in the optic nerve in his eye. When his Dad asked him in an interview what he has to do to be cancer, Braylon answered very simply “Be brave”.

On top of his undeniable bravery, Braylon has found another way to fight cancer: dancing. Braylon, along with his Dad and any of the nursing staff he can convince to join, dance through each and every one of his chemo treatments. His sweet dance moves even gained him national fame recently as he was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show:

Make a dance video. Post it. Raise awareness for pediatric cancer. Inspire kids. #JustKeepDancing

I spoke to Braylon’s Dad Jesse before making this month’s delivery to Hemby. I know that’s where they get a lot of their treatment and wanted to know if there was anything in particular he knew they needed. Kids like Braylon are not quite old enough to be into video games, but also a little too old for the toddler toys as well, so Legos was the perfect answer. Of course I had to add my own flavor to the delivery, including a few Star Wars, Batman, and Minecraft Lego sets. I also had to throw in a few of the Lego Xbox games as well for good measure.

I ask that all of my followers follow Braylon’s story as well. This is a kid that has found a way to be brave while keeping his innocence and fun, and that’s saying a lot. This delivery is for you, bud #JustKeepDancing.
